Quality and Sustainability
at Tessitura Marco Pastorelli

Superior clothing begins with the lining

Founded in the late ’40s by brothers Carlo and Marco Pastorelli, the Gallarate-based company is now expertly led by their grandchildren with technical and managerial expertise passed down and built on through four generations. Always attentive to the needs of customers and market, the Pastorelli family considers linings to be the foundation of superior clothing, so much so that it has made Quality its hallmark, alongside Sustainability. As such, Pastorelli recently launched its Quality & Sustainability logo, underpinning the company’s over 50-year commitment to monitoring every stage of the yarn supply chain, resulting in an end product that guarantees the quality that is synonymous with Made in Italy.

The focus on green policies is shown not only in its use of sustainable fibres, such as RCS certified Cupro Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei, FSC viscose, BCI cotton, and GOTS cotton, but above all through energy-saving processes such as installing a fully LED electrical system and investing in technologically advanced machinery, to reduce its environmental footprint. The company also pays particular attention to monitoring the water used in its dyes and chemicals, as well as selecting reliable partners to manage and dispose of production waste.

A carefully selected and controlled supply chain, which aims for a qualitatively distinctive product that is also TF tracked and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, with a level of transparency that, as Patrizia Pastorelli says, ‘is now focused and essential’. The Pastorelli management also keeps a close eye on international standards: it complies with Chinese standard GB 18401-2010 type B and with the parameters of the international ZDHC initiative, with a particular commitment from the company’s Chemical Manager to guarantee a superior quality product at global level.
