The company based in Montirone, near Brescia, has grown following the fundamental principles of quality and service, gradually building its vast range of yarns offered in various types and colours, quality tested and always available in stock. In 2008 Monticolor launched Colors for Life, a programme that seals its commitment to steering its products and manufacturing activities towards a new model of development in which environmental protection, respect for people and economic sustainability enjoy equal standing. Colors for Life takes the form of a line of natural yarns for ecological and ethical fashion. It contributes to the environment and to human health as part of a philosophy of sustainable organic product, from origin to finished garment.
As part of this 15-year-long Bio Philosophy, Monticolor has been supporting social equity and respect for workers’ fundamental rights throughout the supply chain; environmental protection through the use of technologies and processes that minimise pollution and protect water resources; non-toxicity in contact with the skin to guarantee human health. It has also taken a leadership role in joining the Detox project and eliminated all hazardous chemical emissions from its production processes since 2020. And that’s not all: when it comes to renewable fibres, Monticolor has designed fancy yarns with high quality recycled polyester made from post-consumer plastic bottles. .
The strength of its commitment can be seen in the numerous prestigious certifications it has achieved: GOTS, OCS, GRS, RCS, RWS, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Better Cotton, Cotton Leads and Cotton USA.
