Suspended | Season Trends
Suspended time clouds the past, paralyses the present and disperses the future. Like weights on a precision scale, like light bodies captured in an instant before falling, like balancing masses, it makes us feel precarious and immobile. Suspended time is the time of silence, of an uncertain wait, Of who’s feeling insecure, with nothing to hold on to, even though they are momentarily stable. It is a time that does not exist, like an unreal bubble in which everything seems stationary, every event frozen, in the midst of its happening. There is no tense that can express this moment: not the present, because it would pass, not the past, where it was different, and not the future, which would change it. However, there is a feeling that can represent it: that of a falling drop, of eggs about to fall, of balloons about to burst. In confusing moments like the ones history often puts us through, we feel like those things, pending, hanging by a thread that should break but does not, leaving us hanging, in a limbo of precariousness that might last forever.
