A wave of bold, powerful, disruptive creativity rises, dragging old and new currents along with it. From ’80s New Wave to Harajuku girls, from New Romantic to K-pop, through street cultures from every era. Girls and boys around the world are cresting it to the rhythm of loud music. Audacity, energy and freedom bordering on anarchy are the impetus pushing them against any preconceived order. Design in turmoil, striking graphics, unexpected material mash-ups propel their overwhelming anti-conformist surge. They are pressed by a pop drive that comes from the past but advances unstoppably at an increasing pace. They love vinyl and audiocassettes, egocentric jewellery, glamour make-up and the gender fluidity of London’s post-punk clubs. Digital and analogue flow and mix together in their veins.
