Monticolor: new shapes draw
on nature and mythology

Spring/Summer 2025 presented

Monticolor‘s Spring/Summer 2025 collection celebrates the paradisiacal vision of nature and the beauty of Greek mythology through its ability to create an entire range of sustainable and innovative yarns in the style, content and quality of raw materials and processes: from the Garden of Eden to Ancient Greek sculpture to the Birth of Venus. Monticolor‘s very modern and innovative approach is also reflected in its participation in the Re-Verso™ value chain, in an exclusive partnership to develop cotton-based yarns from pre-consumer knit offcuts and regenerate them for the fashion industry. To guarantee the sustainability of the new yarns developed with Re-Verso™, the company has embarked on the process of obtaining LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), which assesses the carbon footprint of a product/service over its entire lifespan. Re-Verso™ is a new productive approach that teams science and technology with a view to creating a circular economy production system from the collaboration of companies specialised in processing wool, cashmere and, now, high quality cotton.

The collection has three themes featuring a number of new developments. The first, Garden of Eden, is the surreal and provocative vision of nature, to be found in perforations, lace, veiled transparencies, irregular weaves, intarsia, interweaving, breakages and abrasions. This theme includes the Terra yarn, which is simple, natural and organic. It is the first to be developed by Monticolor in collaboration with Re-Verso™. OCS certified cotton, selected as a result of Monticolor’s decades of expertise in organic certification, completes the value of Terra and makes it fully eco-friendly. Vimine is a pre-consumer recycled cotton roving created alongside Re-Verso™. Vimine is GRS and OCS certified, ensuring maximum focus on the environment and sustainability. Finally, Organza which, as the name states, is an ultrafine organic cotton crêpe crafted in a spiral with recycled polyamide to create a sensual, fluid veil that discreetly reveals the shape of the body. In the Plastered Shapes theme, the tactile sensation of ancient sculptural art is translated into defined, plastic forms. A play on opposites between malleable volumes and soft marble draperies in dusty tones.

This season’s Stringa and Strafilo yarns become Biostringa and Biostrafilo thanks to a new certified organic cotton and new double twisted processing. The end result is a soft, airy, light, combed, high quality yarn for thick yet airy knits and perforated and structured stitches. Venus Reborn has all the mythology of the sea associated with the iconic figure of Venus. These yarns are light and fresh, as fine as fishing nets and in marine colours or with a corroded, salty effect. Thicker sweatshirting yarns are ideal for sporty or casual pieces with a close fit and athletic performance. A comfortable ultrafine crêpe long-staple cotton called Fine Breeze is certified organic and provides exceptional lightness whilst ensuring a pleasant feeling of dryness.
