Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen are the couple who founded the design studio Muller Van Severen in 2011. They’re two artists who create sculptural objects that are placed between art and design. They are the result of a careful research and deepening of their artistic passions with architectural contamination, all expressed through a research and wise use of materials ranging from polyethylene to steel, from leather to marble and brass. Great importance has the color that seems to penetrate and get absorbed down to the heart of the material. All these elements give the idea that objects are drawn in space with pastels and great ease. Their works are made by small artisans and finally inspected by them. Their creations turn out to be a modern Baroque, the simplicity and linearity of the shapes is combined with the bright colours, this means that the objects of furniture are suitable both in more minimalist environments and alongside old furniture and baroque paintings.
