Ali Tahayori
Ali Tahayori’s work speaks of belonging, uprooting and queerness but above all of resilience through art. Using photographs, mirrors, videos and installations, the artist creates visual experiences to express the complexity of his own identity: born and raised in Iran in the 1980s, in a blatantly homophobic society, he decides to emigrate to Australia where he develops an artistic form that combines creativity, rigor and representation of his origins and experiences as an outsider.
