Micam 100 at the starting line

Trade show charts the future of Italian and international footwear

The 100th edition of Micam is just around the corner and will celebrate 50 years of history: half a century of know-how, innovation, Made in Italy and international vision that have made the footwear show a global event. The event, which runs from 7 to 9 September at Fieramilano Rho, has become a real benchmark not only for small and medium Italian companies – which represent the true economic and manufacturing bedrock of Europe – but also for international brands.

MICAM, the global leading event for fashionable, high-quality, innovative, and sustainable footwear, represents the history of Italian excellence, founded on a unique blend of craftsmanship and authentic passion, driven by constant innovation and an ongoing search for style and trends. Showcasing 1,000 brands from all over the world, the fair today represents a crossroads of cultures, creativity and visions, attracting buyers from over 150 countries. Here, the potential of innovation and technology is explored for both manufacturers and retailers, alongside sustainability and training as key drivers to inspire and guide future generations. Micam 100, chaired by Giovanna Ceolini, will be inaugurated in the presence of Minister Urso with the issue of the stamp in the ‘Excellence of the Manufacturing System and Made in Italy’ series, as well as press and institutions.

The fair will shine a spotlight on the Spring/Summer 2026 collections from top international companies and iconic brands from Italy’s manufacturing districts — those who make Made in Italy great across the globe. Also returning will be the Trends & Materials area, linked to the Buyer Guide, and the Future of Retail space, which highlights innovative concepts set to transform retail, with companies offering advanced solutions for the footwear sector. There will also be fashion shows, upcoming designers and presentations on fashion trends, shining a light on the ever-evolving identity of the industry.

Finally, 2025 is also a special year for Assocalzaturifici, the national association representing 500 footwear companies, as it celebrates its 80th anniversary — eight decades dedicated to promoting Italian footwear excellence worldwide. A double milestone that will make this 100th edition of Micam even more extraordinary and ready to step into the future with optimism.
