Techtextil 2026: where performance turns into product strategy

Focus on functional work and non-work apparel

Demand for high-performing textile solutions for the apparel industry is on the rise, and with it the innovative strength of the sector. Techtextil 2026 will address these developments: the Performance Apparel Textiles area (Hall 9.0) will host some 130 exhibitors from 13 countries presenting innovative materials for workwear, protective clothing, smart fashion, outdoor and sportswear. Whether protecting, cooling, regulating or measuring, functional fabrics offer excellent performance in the harshest conditions. For brands, this paves the way for innovative product concepts, higher value creation and new opportunities for market differentiation.

But which features are embedded in these garments? How can performance, comfort and sustainability be combined? And where do textile solutions unlock new application potential for outdoor, smart fashion or personal protective equipment? Techtextil reflects this dynamic and, with the growth of the performance textiles segment in mind, offers a global hub for decision-makers in procurement, product development and design across the apparel industry. With the special exhibition ‘Performance Apparels on Stage’, the trade show translates material innovation into market-ready applications and presents smart wearable devices on stage several times a day. Techtextil will therefore bring together business innovation, procurement and decision-making for the global clothing industry on a single platform.

Techtextil is the industry-leading international trade show. For anyone operating in the technical textiles and functional clothing market, it is the essential hub for orientation, innovation and networking. We are seeing dynamic growth particularly in the performance apparel segment, as sustainability, functionality, comfort and fashion requirements increasingly converge,” says Wolfgang Quednau (BTTA). “What impressed me most about the submitted products,” he continued, “was how consistently new functionalities are linked with a more holistic understanding of sustainability – taking into account aspects such as comfort, durability, repairability and easy-care properties.” Complementing Techtextil, the adjacent Texprocess (Hall 8.0) serves as a platform for textile processing technologies and demonstrates how textile innovations can be efficiently transferred into production at scale – from automated processes to AI-supported manufacturing.
