Eternel: the 100% stainless steel Lampo

New completely green design

Eternel is the result of a design philosophy based on innovation and product performance and is entirely manufactured at Lanfranchi’s factories in Italy. In line with the principles of circular economy and eco-sustainable design, Lampo and Eternel give a high-standing response to ever more stringent market requirements, particularly in the leather goods and clothing sectors: a new slider that is more elegant and slides more smoothly. Also, as of today, Eternel is also available in a version with a self-locking slider for clothing, further expanding the versatility of the range. Eternel is made entirely of stainless steel. Its teeth are cut from a steel plate, while the stainless steel slider and puller are manufactured using MIM technology (Metal Injection Molding).

This is a completely green system as it produces casting waste (feedhead) that can be infinitely recycled and, in Lanfranchi’s case, the process is fully solar powered. MIM can also be used to give the pullers a customised shape and logo according to customer requirements. The tape on which the teeth are punched is also eco-sustainable, as it is produced from post-consumer recycled polyester yarn. What’s more, the entire production process for Lanfranchi zip tape, from weaving to dyeing, is GRS-certified. Finally, the metal parts are coloured by PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), a technology with no environmental impact as it does not release emissions into the atmosphere during processing.
