Lampo by Ditta Giovanni Lanfranchi S.p.A., the leading Italian zip manufacturer, has achieved Global Recycle Standard (GRS) V4.0 certification for the production and dyeing of its zip ribbons. GRS is the most important voluntary international standard for recycled fabrics managed by non-profit organisation Textile Exchange. The standard sets the requirements for the third-party certification of recycled materials and the chain of custody as well as compliance with environmental and social criteria.
“We have reached an incredible strategic and value goal by applying for and obtaining GRS certification. This is another step forward for Lampo on our path towards sustainability. We know how important using sustainable materials and production best practices is to our partners and clients. This is our main asset: total transparency on our journey to becoming greener, sharing every step of our story with a market that is increasingly attentive to environmental themes,” says Lampo Chairman Guido Lanfranchi. The company is one of very few businesses on the market to recycle waste from its production process, guaranteeing the recycling and quality of its materials are properly recorded. From now on, Lampo zip production and dyeing will be GRS-certified in addition to its yarns. This is a major milestone in which traceability and transparency of the entire process are central to a clear, shared green strategy.
