Talking about sustainability
with Mainetti Italia
The green work in progress
The Full Circle Initiative by Mainetti Italia is a significant response to the transition to a business model focused on the circular economy. This initiative reflects a tangible commitment to promote sustainable practices and reduce environmental impact through innovative solutions and cutting-edge recycling processes.
Mainetti Italia has been embedding the circular economy principles into its product design and development for some time. In 2021 Mainetti Italia signed up to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to accelerate the global transition towards a circular economy. As part of its membership, Mainetti Italia signed The Global Commitment, setting ambitious targets to commit to changing the way the company produces, uses and reuses plastic. The Full Circle Initiative pillars are decarbonisation and circularity. Decarbonisation: the continued use of fossil fuels and the production of waste are contributing to a rapid increase in greenhouse gas emissions. Mainetti Group has reached its target of 63.4% renewable energy use globally, a significant milestone on the way to achieving 80% by 2025 and 100% renewable energy by 2030.
Circularity: thanks to two systems developed in-house, Hangerloop, which reuses and recycles hangers, and Polyloop, which recycles clear polyethylene for shrouds (clear bags used in e-commerce) and shopping bags, concrete steps are being taken in line with the new paradigm of conscious consumption.
