Bottoli to be official Italy Hall sponsor at EXPO 2025 Osaka

The Lanificio dream fulfilled

The long-established Veneto-based mill will be the official sponsor of the Italy Hall at EXPO 2025 Osaka. Lanificio Bottoli, which has its roots in the long-standing history of the northeast Venetian mills, rightly belongs to the select group of companies that will be representing real Made in Italy products in Japan. Italy, a people of poets, artists, heroes, saints, thinkers and creators of beauty.

The mill’s wool/silk/cashmere scarves dyed with coffee grounds will be donated to the authorities during the EXPO in the Italy Hall. Founded in 1861, Lanificio Bottoli is favoured by national and international brands, specialising in the production of patterned fabrics (for clothing, accessories, such as scarves and shawls, and the home, with blankets and throws). The distinctive element that makes Italian fabrics world-famous stems from an elegant interweaving of tradition and innovation, but above all of taste and imagination. This is the result of painstaking research both during the creative phase and in actual production. One of these research projects led to Lanificio‘s idea of dyeing fabrics with coffee grounds.

Scarves in wool, silk and cashmere are dyed with an innovative process that uses coffee grounds sourced from Dersut coffee, a Veneto-based HoReCa business that recycles grounds from selected customers. The coffee-dyed scarf, an aromatic combination of 2 classic Italian symbols, gives the wearer a fragment of authentic Italian history and culture. EXPO 2025 Osaka will be an excellent showcase for these items, which embody the pride of Italy’s heritage.
