The liaison between Japanese fashion genius Junya Watanabe, designer of Comme Des Garçons Man, and the long-standing Lanificio Bottoli has continued into Spring/Summer 2021. After the success achieved with the co-branded capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2020.21, available from the best online (from Mytheresa to Luisaviaroma) and offline stores (from Selfridges to Biffi in Milan), the eclectic Japanese designer has once again partnered with the Veneto-based mill for his extravagant creations (the photo shows the patchwork jacket worn by Yoshiyuki Morioka, book director at Ginza).
For this collection, renowned photographer Keizo Kitajima has shot ordinary people doing their jobs.
A homage to Japan and the innate culture of work. This is not the first co-branding experience for Junya Watanabe (he has previously worked with Moncler, Nike, Converse, North Face, etc.), but this is the first time he has chosen to focus so strongly on a supplier. Is this not the perfect combination of quality fabrics and style genius?
