Lanificio Bottoli’s blankets land in the cinema
Paolo Costella’s ‘Storia di una Notte’ chooses Italian creativity
2025 full of news for the long-standing Veneto wool mill. After representing Italian manufacturing at the Osaka Expo by exhibiting its coffee-dyed scarves in the Land of the Rising Sun, Bottoli is once again making waves, this time for its blankets. They will feature in the new film ‘Storia di una Notte’ by director and screenwriter Paolo Costella. Several blankets are filmed but one in particular is used in the film’s key scene, and even features prominently on the poster.
It is not the first time that the wool mill founded in 1861 has opened up to the world of celebrities. During Milan fashion week for Autumn/Winter 2018.19, the famous luxury fashion brand Etro chose Bottoli blankets for a capsule collection given to actors and celebrities at its show. The wool mill’s search for ever new designs, curiosity and a marked propensity for innovation and research (not only of materials but also finishes and dye) is being rewarded by recognition on the luxury market. Creativity, quality and service are the main characteristics of textile production at Lanificio Bottoli: from the selection of raw materials to dyeing, spinning, warping and weaving, all the way to finishing and quality control.
Its premium quality Made in Italy fabrics are exported to 21 countries around the world and used by the most prestigious brands and national and international garment-makers. Thanks to this sensitivity, the Veneto wool mill is making its mark in new markets, offering transversal collections that appeal to different audiences with a shared language of excellence, elegance and authenticity.
