Oops!… Bottoli did it again

Lanificio Bottoli’s blankets are cinema stars again

In 2025, blankets by the long-standing Vittorio Veneto wool mill were chosen for the film ‘Storia di una Notte’ by director Paolo Costella, starring Giuseppe Battiston and Massimiliano Caiazzo, which was screened in cinemas throughout Italy. Now the blankets feature in a new short film that premiered at the Venice Film Festival called ‘Sulle orme di Marco Polo – Pippo non lo sa’, a short film written and directed by Clizia Fornasier and Attilio Fontana. The film weaves past and present around the theme of silk. Blankets from the Veneto wool mill, which the film industry seems to really love, are used in the main scenes.

It is not the first time that the wool mill founded in 1861 has opened up to the world of celebrities. During Milan fashion week for Autumn/Winter 2018.19, the famous luxury fashion brand Etro chose Bottoli blankets for a capsule collection for actors and celebrities at its show. On that occasion too, the same quality of natural-coloured wool from Italian flocks was used. No artificial fibres or dyeing, only wool with excellent morphological characteristics enhanced by the use of only the natural fleece colour.

Since 2000 Bottoli has identified and selected the best Sopravvissana and Gentile di Puglia breeds of Italian merino sheep from Abruzzo, Molise, Marche and Puglia to produce the exclusive fabrics of the Lanaitaliana® Stile di Vita brand. This renowned quality is now also loved by the film world.
