S/S 2022 at Lanificio Bottoli

Fabric with copper threads with known antibacterial properties

After the success of the blankets containing antibacterial copper nanoparticles sold in pharmacies, Lanificio Bottoli is launching a fabric with superfine copper threads designed for jackets and trousers in its summer 2022 collection.

This innovative type of fabric, part of the company’s ecological line, uses hemp and linen yarns in the natural colours of the fibres, without dyes or with plant-based dyes.

The beneficial properties of copper have been known since ancient times and it was used to combat or slow the growth of bacteria by the Greeks, Egyptians, Romans and Aztecs.

The Veneto-based mill has woven copper into a blend of premium fibres to create a fresh, lightweight fabric with the added bonus of antibacterial properties. Lanificio Bottoli has long been committed to finding innovative natural fibres, avoiding the use of chemical dyes and creating ecological fabrics with heightened natural qualities: the demand for traditional fabrics that can offer good technical performance is higher than ever
