J. Salinas profile

Peruvian flair at Milan Fashion Week

Among South American fashion brands, Jorge Luis Salinas stands out, a Peruvian fashion designer who founded his eponymous label in 2016. After attending the prestigious Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science in the United States, winning the Inter Jeans Men’s Fashion Week competition in Cologne, Germany, and the Gen Art in New York, Salinas launched the J. Salinas brand, bringing his creative vision to the runways of New York Fashion Week.

He also initiated significant collaborations, such as with Macy’s, where his garments and designs are showcased. Additionally, with the S/S 2025 collection, it has made its second appearance at Milan Fashion Week. In Peru, he is known and hailed as ‘the pride of Mariscal Gamarra’, the Peruvian textile district where he honed his technique and talent.

Through collaboration with Andean textile committees, Salinas incorporates Peruvian identity into his collections, characterized by vibrant colours, intricate embroidery, and precious hand-woven fabrics, while also spreading the traditions of his country and enhancing the work of artisans, often from remote areas of Peru.
