Fashion and interior design come together in creative dialogue

On 22 and 23 September, PerúModa & Deco attended Milan Fashion Week with Peruvian designers and companies specialised in alpaca, Pima cotton and home decor. An appointment aimed at enhancing the Andean textile tradition reworked with a contemporary twist and bringing it front and centre of sustainable fashion and creative excellence. The event took place at the Hotel Meliá Milano and the Guffanti Concept Showroom, creating an exclusive meeting that teamed design, comfort and traceability. Peru’s presence in Milan underlines the strength of an industry that is capable of combining premium raw materials with responsible processes and innovative creativity.

Alpaca, prized for its softness, warmth and durability, enters the Italian fashion supply chain, bringing uniqueness and sustainability to a market seeking quality and authenticity. By its side, Pima cotton, among the world’s finest fibres, enriches the offer with lightness, strength and contemporary elegance. Also present were well-established companies such as Aikuss, Anaychay, Become, Caryluis Artesanias, Corceli, Incalpaca, Cotton Project, and House of Pima, which heighten the potential of Peruvian fibres through traceable, sustainable and high-quality collections, as well as home decor companies such as Ethical Peruvian Knitwear, Alpaca Couture, Raymisa, and Sumaq Qara, which have transformed Peruvian craftsmanship into unique home decor offering a touch of comfort and sustainable living.

The special edition of PerúModa & Deco brings an innovative concept of ‘contemporary Peruvian-nessinto the spotlight, in which fashion, design and interior design come together in a creative dialogue between tradition and modernity. Ancient craftsmanship techniques, hand-woven fabrics and natural dyes are intertwined with global trends and European standards of responsible consumption, resulting in sustainable, authentic and international collections. The initiative is promoted and supported by PROMPERÚ – the Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism – an institution committed to enhancing the country’s production and craftsmanship excellence, promoting the entry of Peruvian companies into the world’s most competitive markets.
