Stamperia di Lipomo is a medium-sized textile business set up by Giannino Brenna on 3 July 1960. It is based in the heart of the Como region and specialises in printing and finishing. The main product sectors it targets are womenswear/menswear and accessories as well as bathroom and furnishings.
The distinguishing feature in the company’s vision is its desire to solve its customer’s fabric processing issues whilst not losing sight of creativity.
That entrepreneurial creativity, based on values and intentions, aimed at technical and technological research, always attaches great importance to an all-round culture that places sustainability and a green approach at the heart of everything it does. This is why the company has worked to achieve ISO 9001:2015 and GRS certifications. These new certifications add to the For Textile certification and the ZDHC standard that the company had already signed up to. Other certifications, such as FSC and OEKO-TEX, are expected to be achieved in the future.
Environmental sustainability, teamed with a constant commitment to the circular economy, is targeted on several fronts, such as: acquiring a new steam generator with optimised performance and considerably lower consumption; installing a photovoltaic system; implementing feasibility ‘stress tests’ of the computerised system that monitors the consumption of all company machines; ‘foam’ patent for cutting nitrogen consumption; analysing the business and production model to reduce waste; creating a business network to reduce waste throughout the supply chain; analysing the feasibility of ‘pigment printing’; analysing the feasibility of adding an ‘automatic dyeing system’ at the company.
Moreover, Stamperia di Lipomo is one of the founding fathers of the Retex.Green, the new consortium for the circular economy, a project of Sistema Moda Italia.
