The brands to watch for S/S 2025

If there’s one thing to emphasize under “accessories” for the upcoming summer season, it’s craftsmanship. And right after that, tradition — yet (re)newed tradition. All brands, both Italian and international, young and established, are presenting products that aim to retain a link to their origins, and thus to artisanal techniques, but in a contemporary light. Expect abundant detailing, from logos and appliqués to glimmers and/or vivid tones, even as the classic neutral palette still holds its own. Another key element is a focus on comfort, even with heels, and sustainability, both in production and material selection, which in some cases are vegan and completely cruelty-free. A wide variety of styles, from mid-range to the most exclusive luxury, is on offer, with many brands favoured by celebrities on both sides of the ocean. Because when an accessory stands out for quality and elegance, when it has that certain “je ne sais quoi,” it can elevate an entire look — whether on the red carpet or on any city street, anywhere in the world

SISTTA

In León, in the Mexican state of Guanajuato — a city known for its rich shoemaking heritage — Sistta began crafting high-quality, stylish sneakers. Each pair is always made with 100% certified, locally sourced materials, prioritizing sustainability. Sistta’s standout collection, Sweven, combines the timeless style of the Wallabee with the fresh, modern appeal of sneakers, offering a unique, versatile design that transcends any trend.

LEMON JELLY

“Our steps leave an imprint, and as footwear artisans, we are here to make every step count.” This statement perfectly encapsulates the philosophy of Lemon Jelly, the Portuguese footwear brand that promises comfort and versatility for all weather, rain or shine — all infused with a delightful essence… lemon! Indeed, whether boots or summer sandals, Lemon Jelly shoes are scented with a lemon fragrance, incorporated directly into the material. Every pair is designed to be fresh, comfortable, and cruelty-free, proudly bearing the PETA Approved Vegan certification. The “Recycled Lemons” line, moreover, incorporates recycled plastic.

AREZZO

With the “Arezzo On Board” campaign, the South American brand Arezzo embraces the summer of 2025, focusing on personalization through three innovative collections: Bomber, Braids, and Cool Sporty. The first collection, Bomber, offers uniform colours with unique details, such as oversized knots. Braids stands out with a mix of woven, colourful textures that match the rhythm of summer, while Cool Sporty celebrates the return of the sporty trend, combining varied textures with rubberized pieces and laces. These collections introduce a fresh take on sportswear with a dynamic design that refreshes and elevates casual wear.

SCHUTZ

Founded by Alexandre Birman in 1995, Brazilian brand Schutz quickly gained a celebrity following for its footwear, bags, and accessories. The latest collection, still crafted in Brazil, features a wide range of designs made from top-quality materials and innovative technologies. Embracing a bold, sexy DNA, this collection draws inspiration from motor racing, with elements like flames, curving lines, and shaped heels that guarantee powerful looks full of personality. Ranging from casual to sultry, Schutz offers a unique opportunity to conquer the summer while staying on-trend.

MELISSA

Melissa, iconic since 1979! This Brazilian footwear brand has stood out from the beginning for its commitment to sustainability, using 30% recycled plastic and recyclable PVC. It has been a pioneer in eco-fashion, collaborating with renowned designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, and Marc Jacobs. Today, Melissa is found in over 100 stores worldwide, continuing to captivate with its creative and eco-friendly approach, reinventing classics and creating new fashion icons.

VICINI

The renowned footwear brand Vicini makes a grand return, now part of the Giuseppe Zanotti Group, with a collection that reinterprets its heritage through a fresh, contemporary twist. The key word is “geometry,” expressed through squared shapes and clean lines, highlighted by the brand’s signature elements: white lining and soles, a maxi-logo, a branded rivet, and bold, solid colours. The range includes ballet flats, sling-backs, sandals, and mules in various heel heights, crafted from tassel leather, patent leather, denim, and cork.

XTI

For Xti, shoes are more than a fashion statement; they express personal identity. This conviction has helped Xti establish its market presence, launching a summer collection that highlights sneakers as the cornerstone of contemporary dressing. With vibrant colours and various sole types and heights, Xti sneakers offer style and functionality but aren’t the only option; the collection also includes wedge espadrilles, boots, and high-heeled sandals, all designed to be as comfortable as flat shoes.

VALEXTRA

For Spring/Summer 2025, Milanese brand Valextra reimagines its iconic bags, including the Milano — now available in an unprecedented micro version — and the ViVi, offered in mini and larger unisex formats, both in natural canvas and Millepunte leather. The MyLogo bowling bag debuts a new design in Sublime leather and Valextra Black, while the Iside Bead bag features a body of hand-woven beads inspired by the jewellery of the historic brand Coppola & Toppo. From the Iside collection, there’s also a new rectangular shape with exclusive details like the signature closure mechanism and its unmistakable geometric flap.

GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI

Luxury stripped of excess, focusing on quality and artisanal essence; this is the starting point for Giuseppe Zanotti’s upcoming summer collection, complemented by the brand’s signature elements — jewel accents and metal sculptures. The year 2024 also marks the 30th anniversary of the brand, so the iconic ring sandal has been reinterpreted in an unexpected combination with a chunky 90mm heel. Overall, the shoe silhouettes are sharp, with the Mya mule and Brendha slingback featuring metallic accents and jewel-like anklets, while the flat options are embellished with crystals and Seventies-inspired buckles set with semi-precious stones.

FLABELUS

Launched in Spain in 2020 during the pandemic, Flabelus aims to make espadrilles a year-round staple. The result is a kind of Iberian ‘friulana’ with bright colours and sustainable materials. Every pair is crafted with a commitment to sustainability, produced locally in Spain using materials sourced from Spain or Italy. Flabelus shoes are designed to combine timeless style with durability, rooted in centuries-old artisanal techniques, without sacrificing comfort. These “new espadrilles” are ready to become a daily wardrobe essential, transcending seasons.

DIBORGES

Brazilian-born but Milanese by adoption, DiBorges was founded in Milan in 2017. This luxury leather sneaker brand reflects the lifestyle passion of its founder, Thiale DiBorges, who has six years of experience in high-end apparel and accessories, and a love for sporty style. The models range from classic to adventurous, embodying different moods and colours: from golf to streetwear, and from global inspirations like “Paris” and “Berlin” to an all-black “Panther” look. Each model is defined by original details, such as embroidered logos, chromatic or metallic finishes, contrasting grosgrain, and often colourful laces. All sneakers feature ergonomic soles and antibacterial materials for enhanced comfort.

JR SNEAKERS

Every shoe a unique piece. Portuguese brand JR Sneakers sets itself apart by combining casual and sportswear with both comfort and sophisticated design. Inspired by authenticity and freedom of expression, the styles reflect current trends while maintaining high-quality materials and environmental awareness. These are not just accessories but powerful statements of individual identity.

Sustainability is at the heart of both production techniques and materials, and innovations are implemented with respect for nature. Tentoes Trekking sees itself not just as a footwear brand but as an expression of an authentic natural landscape.

AMBITIOUS

Inspired by *Paris, Texas*, the latest Ambitious collection represents a journey that is both external and internal, reflected in landscape tones: soft beige, dry greens, blues, and shades of brown. Materials and details echo these atmospheres, with slightly weathered leather and suede alluding to the nostalgia of past travels and experiences, and embroidery evoking emotional depth. Each model has its own adventure, from loafers to sneakers, strappy sandals to derbies — a silhouette that provides style and support with every step.

MIGUEL VIERA

A comprehensive experience in fashion characterizes Miguel Vieira, who began his career as a fashion designer in 1986, initially producing clothing and later, in the early ’90s, also men’s and women’s footwear. Over time, the brand has grown and established itself across Europe, both at industry trade shows and various fashion weeks, also making its way to America, such as on the catwalks of São Paulo, and in Africa. It is appreciated for its minimalist yet sophisticated design, with signature embellishments that give it a unique allure, worthy of a work of art.

ROMIT

The entrepreneurial journey of brothers Enrico and Giovanni Ciccola, along with Bruno and Otello Romitelli, is rooted in humble beginnings and shared values. In 1978, they founded Romit, a brand of men’s shoes, in Montegranaro, one of Italy’s key footwear districts. These shoes are crafted with meticulous attention to quality and detail, boasting a selection of top-tier leather and premium materials. They also feature the Blake Rapid Flex patent, which provides flexibility while maintaining durability and strength.

VALENTINO SHOES

The Marche-based company Romit, located in Montegranaro — a renowned footwear hub of Made in Italy — produces men’s shoes under its own brand as well as Valentino Shoes under license. The Valentino Shoes brand caters to men with a dynamic, elegant lifestyle who require a shoe that is both modern and refined. Each creation, whether lace-up, loafer, or ankle boot, is made unique and exclusive by the quality of the materials, which are lightweight and soft, as well as by a continuous commitment to quality.

FRATELLI ROSSETTI

Fratelli Rossetti’s focus this season is on craftsmanship with the “doll stitch” technique, creating a serpentine effect on suede. The thread is meticulously pulled to create a wave-like movement, adding refined depth and dynamism. Two iconic models embody this “doll stitch”: the Brera loafer, with its tassels, and the La Giusta lace-up. Additionally, the sole is crafted with the All Over technique, tinting it to match the upper for a seamless look.

PARISY

A new brand born in 2023, Parisy aims to combine the comfort of everyday shoes with luxurious materials and fashionable silhouettes. Impeccably crafted in Venice, these shoes are described by founder Francesca Parisi as “a beautiful spring garden,” “a breeze on the Italian coast,” and “a glamorous evening.” The debut collection draws on organic shapes, pointed toes from the ’90s, and kitten heels from the ’50s, with each model named after iconic Italian songs sung by female voices from the ’50s to the ’90s.

VIZZANO

Made in Brazil, Vizzano blends fashion, responsibility, and innovation, offering styles suited to any wardrobe, from casual to office to sporty, all with a touch of glamour in muted tones. The collection includes animal print platform sneakers, Mary Jane-style flats inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, versatile buckle sandals with shiny details, and T-strap sandals that merge retro flair with contemporary metal and stone touches, as well as ultra-modern gold-mirrored sandals. Vizzano’s diverse portfolio also emphasizes sustainability with a #zerowaste commitment, animal-free materials, and 98% renewable, green electricity.

MARIO VALENTINO

The latest Mario Valentino Spring/Summer 2025 collection reflects the colours and ambiance of the Amalfi Coast, which serves as its inspiration. The Campania-based brand draws on the hues of the region’s ceramics, sea, lights, and nature, translating their lightness into a minimalist design with delicate uppers and fine straps, which also serve as decorative elements. For example, the Kara sandal line features cage-like cut-outs inspired by the geometric motifs of ceramic domes, while the Valerie line focuses on straps with custom metallic details. The Frida line is inspired by the sea, with small golden seashells adorning the minimalist uppers, replaced by shimmering petals in the Lily line for a more romantic feel, ideal for ceremonies. Megan line plays with geometric patterns and transparency, a lightweight look that becomes sensual with Lucy line, inspired by 1950s pin-up styles, presenting soft, harmonious peep-toe designs with a sexy toe opening, perfect for a polished pedicure.
