One of the successful initiatives promoted by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association, also known as Abicalçados, is Brazilian Footwear (www.brazilianfootwear.com), a program to support exports in the sector conducted in collaboration with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), which promoted the participation of Brazilian shoe brands at the major North American trade shows.
In particular, Magic and Project in Las Vegas and Atlanta Shoe Market, held in the first half of August, generated 6.7 million dollars in sales for Brazilian brands, equivalent to 347.5 thousand pairs of shoes. According to data published by Abicalçados, the Magic and Project shows, held simultaneously in Las Vegas, generated 4.7 million dollars in trade for the 13 Brazilian brands attending, 42% more than the 2022 edition, with 122 contacts between the States and Latin America. Expectations were also exceeded at Atlanta Shoe Market. The 17 Brazilian brands attending generated 32% more sales than at the 2022 edition.
It was an important experience for Savelli, which attended the trade show for the first time to learn about the potential of the market. The highly prestigious brand Schutz also reported positive feedback on new and consolidated clients. After this summer’s success, Brazilian Footwear will next attend Magic New York on 19 and 21 September.
