2024 begins with three illuminating and intense editions of Lineapelle. Beginning in London before flying to the Big Apple and then going on to Milan, Lineapelle aims to renew its exhibition offering by extending a participatory and inclusive invitation in a bid to demonstrate that fashion design and manufacturing and traditional craftsmanship and technology speak the shared language of creativity. The guidelines of the London and New York editions are the Spring/Summer 2025 trends set out by the Lineapelle Fashion Committee. The trends are gathered under an evocative and intuitive heading: VUJA DE, the opposite of DEJA VU. An invitation to free the imagination, a way of experiencing customary situations with a spirit of fresh discovery. Ham Yard Hotel in London hosted Lineapelle London on 23 January and saw a significant proportion of Italian attendees (23 out of 43). For young designers and start-ups, it was above all a chance to look for smart and imaginative solutions and materials among the first collection launches.
On 31 January and 1 February, the event moves to New York, where Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan will host Lineapelle New York in a venue used to hosting creative events. Between architecture and design, fashion is right at home and American clients will be able to meet and immerse themselves in all aspects of design. Again, Italian companies will make up a big share of the exhibitors, with as many as fifty out of the 111 attending. First-time attendee Chirotèca – Rete della Guanteria Napoletana will be the protagonist of the ‘La Casa del Guanto’ exhibition (The House of the Glove) curated by SSIP (Stazione Sperimentale per l’Industria delle Pelli). Lineapelle 103 closes the circle at Fiera Milano Rho from 20 to 22 February. The number of exhibitors may still change but the estimate is almost 1150. The Milanese edition is a creative platform with strong commercial and above all cultural value, given the massive participation and the already announced expansion of the exhibition offering. The big news will be Lineapelle Interiors/Leather Duets, designed to highlight the versatility of Italian leather in interior design. The multidisciplinary laboratory, ‘In the Making’, will bring its ‘Act II’ following its success at the last edition; this multidisciplinary area combines premium Italian craftsmanship with technology. Finally, the fair will host its usual Trend Areas and style seminars open to the public, Lineapelle Designers Edition fashion shows, Science Based Fashion Talks, and the award ceremony for the Amici per la Pelle competition.
