Brazilian Leather to attend Lineapelle in Italy

At Milan trade fair from 11 to 13 February

Italy is a trendsetter and the world’s largest leather exporter, making it a key territory for research, business and development in the tanning sector. Its main trade show, Lineapelle, is to hold its 107th edition from 11 to 13 February in Milan, with five Brazilian tanneries exhibiting at individual stands. The participation of Brazilian leather at this event is supported by the Brazilian Leather project, a partnership between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

The exhibiting Brazilian tanneries will be: Couro e Arte, Courovale, Curtume Bolzano, Fuga Couros and Nova Kaeru. The five companies will present their new products for the Spring/Summer 2027 collections. At the invitation of Lineapelle’s trends committee, exhibitors from all over the world have been encouraged to present increasingly natural and authentic materials, in which the sensory dimension plays a central role. At its February 2025 edition, Lineapelle welcomed almost 25,000 visitors (including 18,800 buyers), numbers that could be repeated in 2026. Last year, Italian importers were the third largest buyers (behind China, Hong Kong and the US).

About 45% of the leather purchased by Italy from Brazil is finished or semi-finished, which means it has a higher added value. To further strengthen this business relationship, Brazilian Leather will present communication and marketing initiatives at Lineapelle and promote the CICB Sustainability Forum, an event to be held at Fimec in Novo Hamburgo on 4 March.
