Futurmoda presents technological revolution in footwear

53rd edition focuses on sustainable machinery for footwear and leather

The 53rd edition of international trade show Futurmoda, the leading footwear and leather goods event, will be held on 12 and 13 March 2025 at Ifa – Fira Alacant in Elche, Spain. With over 300 exhibitors and 7,000 visitors, Futurmoda looks set to be an era-defining edition for the industry. In a world where technology is advancing at lightning speed, Futurmoda is staying ahead of the game, hosting over twenty leading eco-green footwear manufacturers. This year the focus will be on innovation in production processes, shining a light on exclusive machinery such as 3D printers and automated cutting and assembly machines.

These cutting-edge technologies cover a wide range of processes, including innovative outsoles, anatomical insoles and components made from recycled and biodegradable materials, to create customised products with unique designs that adapt to market demands. 3D printers are used to produce protypes and end products with millimetre precision, reducing production time and costs. However, the goal is not only to reduce environmental impact and optimise resources, but also to improve process efficiency by minimising waste, and this can also be achieved through automation.

The Futurmoda stand will stage live demos of the above innovations so that visitors can experience first-hand how they work and how their production lines could benefit from them. This edition will once again be hosting the Green Planet space as a meeting hub for companies and professionals looking for eco-sustainable solutions, from recycled materials to eco-friendly processes.
