Lineapelle 108 about to begin!

Lineapelle Designers Edition now in tenth edition

The 108th edition of Lineapelle (15-17 September) is set to begin at Fiera Milano Rho, where over 1,000 exhibitors from 38 different countries will be gathering. “The event is the focal point of an international supply chain that centres on 50,000 companies and generates an estimated turnover of around 150 billion dollars. The figures for this edition show how unmissable this event is,” says Fulvia Bacchi, CEO of Lineapelle and General Manager of UNIC, who continues, “We realised that the only way to overcome the communication challenge posed by so-called alternative materials was to promote a culture of leather and support projects by the next generation of creatives.”

This last point was emphasised strongly and precisely by Alessandro Iliprandi (Bonaudo Group, President of UNIC – Italian Tanners and Vice-President of Lineapelle), who explained the contemporary and future value of leather, as well as the level of excellence achieved by Italian tanneries. These are companies where young people, with their skills, can find a place and opportunities for growth. Following on from Lineapelle 108, the new edition of Lineapelle Designers Edition (22-26 September) will also take place, bringing together 14 designers to ‘compete’ against one another: Absent Findings, Art259design, Biagini, Davii, Demiurgo Leather Avantgarde, Dienèe, Edis Pala, Florania, Laboratorio Riciclo Pelle, Leonardovalentini, Saman Loira, Simon Cracker, Veiga Milano and Yezael By Angelo Cruciani.

Over time, Lineapelle Designers Edition has evolved into a genuine community centred on values, sustainability and contemporary design: a journey that combines aesthetics, research and authenticity, and an experience that goes beyond product to become an expression of style and vision. In the 10 years since its launch, Lineapelle Designers Edition has hosted 80 events and welcomed over 18,000 guests. This year, the format will focus on retail, in collaboration with DAAD Dantone. At the end of October, the historic Milanese boutique on Via della Spiga will host a week-long exhibition featuring a selection of the participating designers, with a focus on their leather creations.
