Sapica’s ‘new vision’

Creativity as an engine for AI


“Let’s dream now, redesign the industry now, imagine now” was the motto of the 91st edition of Sapica, the fourth-largest leather fashion, footwear, and leather goods fair in the world, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in August in the city of León, Mexico. The 2,200 national and international buyers and 380 exhibitors had the opportunity to meet during an edition that paid tribute to Artificial Intelligence and its application in the industry. The thematic choice was driven by the desire to encourage innovation in a present where AI is no longer a futuristic concept but a tool that has already revolutionized and optimized the way we operate.

From design to production to commercialization, Artificial Intelligence offers new solutions and allows for the refinement of supply chains by, for example, analysing consumer preferences more effectively, thus providing a broader vision for predicting fashion trends and developing products that perfectly match customers’ tastes. Environmental concerns were also addressed with the presentation of regenerated and/or biodegradable materials. Sapica aims to inspire a vision of evolution where the industry does not merely utilize innovation but promotes and drives its growth. A vision that does not diminish the importance of human talent and ingenuity but rather emphasizes their role as the driving force that guides Artificial Intelligence in maximizing creativity.”
