Bemberg attends IAAD in Turin

Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia commits to training

Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia, the Italian branch of the noted Japanese manufacturer of exclusive fibre Cupro Bemberg™, met with students at one of the most prestigious fashion design schools as part of the Bemberg™ Educational Session project. The initiative began ten or so years ago and is now strongly supported by institutes and teachers, who want to give their students the opportunity to get to know the unique characteristics of this RCS-certified natural fibre made from cotton linters.

The meetings were held at the institutes and coordinated by marketing & sales manager Ettore Pellegrini. Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia’s aim is firstly to familiarise the students with Cupro Bemberg™ and all its possible applications – often surprising and little known – through direct dialogue between the fibre’s manufacturer and trader and those hoping to use it in future collections. These seminars are a great way of working towards this goal, as they raise awareness among these young people at the very moment when they are studying the world of Textile and Clothing.

Last but not least, Asahi Kasei Fibers Italia is looking to work with key fashion system players of the future, whether on the design or manufacturing side. Seminars are scheduled to take place throughout the academic year at Istituto Secoli, Accademia Costume & Moda in Milan and Rome, Biella Master delle Fibre Nobili, Accademia della Moda IUAD in Milan and Naples, NABA in Milan and Rome, Politecnico di Milano, IED in Turin, STA in Lugano and IAAD in Turin and Bologna. Other contacts are currently being forged to extend the number of institutes taking part in the Bemberg™ Educational Session project.
