Flax-Linen Traceability Platform: traceability from fibre to finished product
Innovation in the traceability of linen certified by TextileGenesis
A digital innovation is set to launch in May for the traceability of certified flax, from its fibre to the finished product. It will be backed by TextileGenesis-Lectra, the platform that offers transparency for materials and production processes through cutting-edge monitoring systems. The authenticity of raw materials such as textile fibres is validated through solid evidence of their origin and their journey through every stage and location of the supply chain. One of the most important objectives for brands aiming for sustainability and transparency is to know and monitor the product supply chain. That is why demand for European Flax certification has increased by 755% in 5 years.
To keep pace with this demand, European Flax has changed its name to Masters of FLAX FIBRE, with a new logo and mission statement. The Masters of LINEN certification also changed its logo and mission statement, better distinguishing European spinners, weavers and knitters who represent excellence in the art of linen and are committed to prioritising the sourcing of European linen. Linen traceability will no longer be a tough challenge, but instead will move ever closer to the full transparency to which the entire fashion industry should aspire.
