New ‘Revolution!’ issue S/S 2023
The seventh edition of Feel the Yarn celebrates an unprecedented period of change. Let’s forget who we used to be, what has happened, and what it was like. The dimension has changed, the message has shifted.
Only one word counts: revolution.
Whether it’s personal, philosophical, real or utopian, the very word triggers a feeling of unrest, as if it alone could instil that long-dormant élan vital in individuals or whole communities. With that in mind, Feel the Yarn is announcing a new collaboration with Archivi di Ricerca Mazzini, thanks to which iconic pieces will be exhibited and the magazine’s revolutionary arrival on digital portals is celebrated. The magazine will also continue to attend some of the most important trade shows in the world.
In the Feel the Yarn revolution, subversive change will play out in four stages and four locations. The first location is the heart – the home of all feelings and sensations: in “Ode to Joy” the revolution takes the shape of the sun, the scent of flowers and the warmth of sunlight gently warming the skin on a hot summer afternoon. A moment of ephemeral yet enduring happiness. If the heart is restless, so is the mind: the key to change lies within us. “Password: Creativity” reminds us that the imagination and creativity are drivers of change. Revolution is a search for new meaning, a new reality.
The revolution then moves from abstract to real places: “Shared Places” is about the consciousness of human beings in the Anthropocene. We are no longer a group of individuals but a constantly changing single organism, always in contact with nature. Feel the Yarn’s revolutionary narrative concludes with “The Responsible Choice”: a homage to a conscious and mindful lifestyle that remembers to pick the right battles and maintains focus on shared goals. With these multiple revolutionary forms, Feel the Yarn confirms its desire to support and commit to more ethical and sustainable production, and gives ever more space to young talents.
