Lanificio dell’Olivo’s Spring/Summer 2027
New collection presented at Pitti Immagine Filati
The company’s S/S 2027 collection marks both a return to its roots and a new beginning. After years of more understated proposals, the company has rediscovered its creative soul and boldly relaunched it, highlighting yarns that convey imagination, experimentation and a deep desire for renewal. The collection channels the philosophy of Olivo’s new CEO, Tommaso Baldini, who is in charge of sales and product, and previously owned a knitting yarn production company that always focused on pattern.
“I would like to thank Alberto Enoch, President of Filidarte Group, for giving me the opportunity to work on the collection of one of the most important companies in the district. We have designed a proposal capable of meeting the needs of a wide and diverse clientele. We have created families of yarns and aspects that help our customers find their comfort zone, capturing their attention and making their choices that much easier.” Customers will find eight distinct families, which are divided as set out below. Cotton Essentials, in which cotton becomes pure language; twisted micro-patterns create delicate vibrations, perfect for those seeking simplicity but not wanting to give up on beautiful details. Warm Cotton, a warm hand, a natural touch; yarns that convey the sweetness of mid-season, when the light changes and colours become softer. Cotton Allucination, the boldest patterns, made of cotton with small percentages of technical fibres, exaggerate the concept of yarn in shape and colour. Linen, featuring twisted and round yarns, corespun and high counts, with linen and its unmistakable appearance taking centre stage. Urban, casual and street style come together in a family of colourful and patterned yarns for informal knitwear; the combination of cotton and polyester creates unique effects and complex movements, a simple fully fashioned cloth becomes “knitted”.
Liquid Falls, the most elegant part of the collection; glossy and matt viscose filaments, used both pure and in combination with technical fibres, create statement aspects and a fluid feel reminiscent of silk, whilst maintaining modern comfort. Tecno Glam, synthetic and artificial fibre yarns used to create very fine, smooth, almost impalpable threads; the technicality stems from the company’s flagship, one-of-a-kind twisting machine department, capable of processing incredibly tough, fine and robust fibres. Shining Stars, the family designed for eveningwear; fine lamé illuminates a wide range of products, extremely fine, shiny polyester gives an imperceptible sheen, but once the garment has been made, it lends a bright and unmistakable elegance. All this, of course, without neglecting what has helped make the company great: quality and service. All yarns have clear certifications, placing the collection among the most sustainable in the industry. Service also remains a key point; all yarns are available in stock service colours to meet the needs of a market that relies heavily on fast delivery.
