Monticolor presents
‘Organic Sense’

Company joins the circular economy at Filo

Having celebrated its first 30 years in business, Monticolor is now developing its cotton core by combining it with precious cashmere fibre. This choice has been led by changing supply and demand, which requires increasingly transversal products. At Filo, the international event dedicated to excellence in yarns held in Milan in September, the Brescia-based company presented its new ‘Sense of Cashmere’ project showcasing a mix of materials in which cashmere is combined with natural, organic certified cotton. The fibres are transformed into aery, fluffy, soft yarns using the very latest machinery. Soft wicks create sophisticated volumes, textured surfaces and unique linear garments. A new product concept that goes beyond seasonality, generating a warm sense of physical and sensory wellbeing.

Of the various blends designed to create every possible level of comfort, Monticolor suggests ‘Organic Sense’, which has a composition of 90% organic combed cotton and 10% cashmere, producing a soft, clean and brightly coloured yarn capable of enhancing garments with clean, simple surfaces. Monticolor’s main focus is on meeting its customers’ requirements, from custom-made requests to the development of specific colours. This has enabled the company to make 65% of its sales abroad and 35% in Italy, catering to the entire market, with a particular focus on the main production districts. Monticolor also wants to engage more directly with the circular economy, supporting businesses that promote it, such as Re-VersoTM, which has a new productive approach teaming science and technology that aims to create a production system for high quality, 100% Made in Italy cotton, wool and cashmere.

An advanced, integrated, transparent, traceable and certified supply chain bringing together Green Line, which procures, selects and sanitises post-consumer fabric, and Fratelli Boretti, responsible for the rigorous hand-selection and mechanical transformation process, to create the material base alongside selected partners such as Monticolor for the transformation into yarn.
