At the end of 2022, Lanificio dell’Olivo can look back on a year of excellent sales and growth as well as global expansion. Knitwear has made a resurgence in collections and Lanificio dell’Olivo has been able to seize the momentum thanks to wide-ranging investments made in recent years: service, product, processes and systems. These positive signs further underline the company’s sustainability target, which focuses on the environment, workers’ health and the ethical treatment of the animals involved in sourcing our yarns.
Our Going Green programme launched in 2014 continues to be implemented alongside the Detox protocol joined in 2015. The Environment data published in the 2021 Sustainability Report outlines that 100% of electricity comes from renewable sources, including the photovoltaics installed on the company roof. And the company has continued to convert the packaging, using over 50% more FSC certified paper and card. The commitment continues every season, expanding the research and the offering of eco-compatible yarns, tripling the amount purchased, and gaining the highest standards of certification in the sector*.
Lanificio dell’Olivo also obtained Advanced level recognition for 3 initiatives in the 4sustainability® Roadmap Framework: 4S Chem, 4S Materials and 4S People.
Finally, when it comes to human capital, Lanificio dell’Olivo encourages young people into the workplace with training initiatives, internships and apprenticeships for fashion school students, including by participating in international contests or company visits. The company provides regular refresher courses and employee welfare initiatives to the personnel to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date.
