The Lineapiù Italia S/S 2022

The Florentine company reveals new collections

The Florentine company reveals new Lineapiù and Filclass collections in a roadshow through the fashion capitals. The Milanese event showcases a collaboration with the brand Progetto 62: a range of fabrics made with knitwear yarns. To present the new knitwear yarn collections, Lineapiù Italia – in the absence of the traditional Pitti Immagine Filati – has launched its own roadshow, which will stop off in Milan before heading to Paris, Munich, New York and Hong Kong. In addition to its Spring/Summer 2022 offering, the event will also reveal a range of special knit fabrics made by Progetto 62, the Colombo Industrie Tessili owned brand, using Lineapiù and Filclass knitwear yarns. This new generation of fabrics incorporate technical and material research aimed at the construction of knitwear yarns: an experimentation that offers the fashion world completely new means of expression.

The challenge that Progetto 62 designer Arman Avetikyan set himself was to ensure the fabric highlighted the characteristics of the yarn.

“The amount of technical and aesthetic research that goes into the world of knitwear yarns is unmatched. With this project, we gathered the profound meaning of that research and combined it with the fabric.”

“The result is a collection that opens up new scenarios to the fashion world,” comments Arman Avetikyan.

The combination of two-colour floral jacquards reminiscent of art deco with an FSC-certified lurex yarn has created a new high-end fabric; the introduction of Crilor, a semi-transparent technical yarn that contracts in contact with steam, has led to the creation of items with three-dimensional effects. A type of weave that reveals the special qualities of FSC-certified cotton and viscose knitwear yarns in the look and feel has been used for items with geometric designs. “We began this collaboration because we share the founding values of Progetto 62: creativity, innovation and sustainability,” says Alessandro Bastagli, Chairman of Lineapiù Italia. “Sharing our technical and productive expertise has led to surprising results: a range of completely new refined fabrics that are 100% Made in Italy.”

Lineapiù Italia’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection features a lightness of being that speaks to a desire for imagination, joy and optimism.

Colour is key to highlighting the weaves, stimulating the imagination and generating positivity. A vital momentum that invites you to leave your comfort zone: Lineapiù Italia‘s new proposals are a homage to rebirth, a return to nature and to ancient lightness. The search for comfort and practicality goes hand in hand with the trend for versatile, functional knitwear, made with soft yarns that offer a soft refuge: visual, physical and emotional. Cotton is paired with animal fibres such as mohair, becoming the emblem of a lifestyle continuously moving between seasons, work, leisure, rest and travel.

A contemporary twist on classic knits – like Aran, ribbed and full cardigan rib – gives the pieces a sense of reassuring familiarity, without sacrificing glamour and fashion. Linen voile, plain or printed with a shibori effect, represent the new basics for minimal chic knits. Eri silk, with its red threads, shapes a shantung yarn textured by natural irregularities and premium slub effects. Fabrications such as rattan and macramé, made with flat linen yarns, create knits with rhythmic graphic motifs that heighten the natural weaves.

Summery textures featuring patchwork and “handmade” fabrications celebrate freedom of expression, creativity and optimism.

The Filclass Spring/Summer 2022 collection offers colours inspired by the sea and its elements. Fresh, light gauzes streaked with linen and organic cotton evoke expanses of golden sand and dunes in Masala and Yogi yarns, while Olimpo, Groove and Paros feature chains and cord effect constructions reminiscent of fishing nets. Opaque pastel colours create a chalky patina on surfaces, producing a calming, relaxing effect. Tokyo, Dada and Marvel yarns hark back to domestic romanticism, to unearthing an old chest bursting with lace and needlework in the attic. Gin and Diana yarns reflect the playful nature of this collection – light viscose with a fluid, shiny surface inspired by the magic of a Coney Island theme park and the wonder of a big wheel.
