Wrinkled trunks, bark and wiry shrubs, at times twisted and tangled around one another, elsewhere parallel and vertical, soaring towards the light, suggest incomparable materials and colours: three-dimensional knits resemble rough, tangled roots, spongy insets are reminiscent of spores and carpet lichens. Than, layering, bubbling, swelling, puckering and distorted forms, like spontaneously developed protuberances. Only a few glossy details recall the ‘skin’ of leaves or of slippery wet wood after the rain.
