Eighty years
of Calzaturificio
Fratelli Soldini
A family business and an entrepreneurial vision
Every anniversary is the story of a long journey made of passion, commitment and plenty of innovation: 2025 is a historic year for Soldini as it celebrates its 80th birthday. An achievement that represents an example and testimony of professional skill and dedication as well as ethical values. A well-established presence in the Made in Italy footwear sector that takes on even greater relevance in an increasingly complex economic context and at a time of profound and radical change. A scenario that Soldini has been able to tackle over the years with creativity and innovation at a strategic, productive and organisational level.
“It has been 80 years of focused goals, as well as choices and changes that have been daring at times; 80 years of great seriousness, professional commitment and passion. Some years have been hugely rewarding while others have undoubtedly been tough. This anniversary is just one step on the journey we have embarked on, convinced that there are many more to come, with the same enthusiasm and tenacity that have motivated us since the very beginning,” said Rossano Soldini. Calzaturificio Fratelli Soldini is one of the few Italian companies in the sector that is fully owned by its founders. The footwear is produced locally, combining the family’s traditional craftsmanship, the accuracy of handmade product and the recognisable Made in Italy style, with the latest technological innovation: it is no coincidence that the company has come so far and is looking far ahead.
The Soldini family celebrated the eightieth anniversary of the business with its extended family, i.e. its employees (from the first ones hired in ‘45, when they were still very young), collaborators, suppliers, retailers and the entire sales network. It was an emotional occasion for Rossano and Marco Soldini. Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, did not want to miss the occasion, nor did other entrepreneurs and lifelong friends: Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Paolo Zegna, Massimo Cerruti, the Nero Giardini family, the Auricchio family, the Snaidero family, the Ferragamo family, to name but a few; as well as representatives of trade associations such as Confindustria, and dignitaries from the Arezzo local authority.
Eugenio Giani, President of the Region of Tuscany, even made a surprise appearance at the end. Also attending were Prof. Marco Fortis and dignitaries from Capolona (the municipality where the company is based), whose mayor, Marco Francesconi, awarded Rossano and Marco Soldini with honorary citizenship.
