Pop fusion | Materials
Pop fusion’s style is understated and multi-material, ranging from sheer and light fabrics resembling paper petals to more structured consistencies, like the glass, stone or wood used to make little design items. And then, wavy or puckered textures, like sand in zen gardens, bright effects and glossy surfaces, as though covered in teriyaki sauce, creamy or powdery touches, like anko sweet red bean paste. Showy accessories, such as big buttons or large rhinestone buckles, are inserted into minimal and ‘toned down’ looks. Micro gold or glittery details, a little beading, and discreet jewellery add a touch of glitz to an overall clean, linear style.
